Age of the First Ones

The Age of the First Ones is a time period during the Immortal Eon, which started when the first sapient mortals species appeared on Miranda. This age would end with devastating storms from the Shadow Realms ravaging the land, eventually damaging the barrier that stopped the gods and devils from entering the Mortal Plane.

The True Elf were the first sapient species native to the Mortal Plane. The perfect melding of the power of the Shadow Realms and the power of the Earthmother would never happen again, the True Elves are unique whose spirit and form is intimately intertwined with the Miranda itself.

The intimate nature of the elves allowed them to freely draw the power of the Shadow Realms that lay across the world and shape it according to their will. It was a fanciful and fantastical time with each True Elf using the world as their own personal canvas to draw upon as they wished. When several of them gathered nearby unheralded beauty was formed.

It is written by the poets that even the gods themselves cried over the wondrously complex beauty of the world.

Ellowyn was not the first shadow spirit to travel to Miranda. Over the millions of years that Miranda existed previously hundreds of millions of spirits came and went between the various shadow planes. What made Ellowyn's arrive different was that she intended to stay on Miranda. She had left the Fae Lands with her most loyal court and desired to create her own domain on Miranda.

Ellowyn used the Well of Life to create the true elves. Elves already existed on the Fae Lands, they are one of the Sidhe - Ellowyn's elves would be true to her. Ellowyn was not of this world and could not on this world so she created her court within the web of shadow power that flowed over and around the world.

While the gods looked upon Ellowyn and her elves as bringing great beauty to the world, with several of the gods often dallying with Ellowyn, the Earthmother and Leylia knew the danger. Leylia and the Earthmother waged a constant war with the immeasurable power of the Heart of Mir. Should they waver or lose their struggle Mir would regain her heart and be set free upon the universe again. With the Titans gone it is doubtful the gods would be capable of retraining her again.

The Earthmother acted by creating the first Ancient Dwarf. Looking as animated stone, ore, and crystal - the dwarves had none of the beauty of the elves but instead the strength and drive to unwind the madcap creations of the elves. They shaped stone, forged metal, and cut gems. Where the elves used a cacophony of color and sound to express themselves - the dwarves returned the world to its natural form.

While the elves and dwarves never “warred” with each other - they simply stood in complete opposite of each other. The elves are characterized by their relationship to the sidhe - seemingly flighty, bombastic, and unencumbered by the future. The dwarves were the creation of the Earthmother - pious, dour, and conservative.

These clashing natures would have a devastating impact on the world. The power of the Shadow Realms is chaotic, powerful, and very dangerous. The Earthmother created seven powerful nodes on this world held together by Leylia that channeled the power of Mir into the Shadow Realms. As the world was whip-lashed back and forth between the elves and dwarves violent Shadow Storms rose out of these giant nodes and tore the world asunder.

No longer could Leylia hold the nodes together as the land parted and the oceans rushed in. Driven far from each other the Earthmother could no balance the power of Mir with that of the Shadow Realms. This power torn apart the barrier that divided the Divine Realms and Infernal Realms from the Shadow Realms. The Mortal plane, and the Earthmother, was vulnerable - the devils came to the world to claim the power of Mir for themselves and the god came to oppose them.

3500 Ma Ellowyn enters the world creating the True Elf as the first sapient life on Miranda.

3200 Ma The first Sylvan Vales are created when a large number of True Elves gather near ley lines causing a minor loci to form.

2900 Ma Ellowyn establishes her court inside the flows of the Shadow Realms over the world.

2700 Ma The Ancient Dwarf is created by the Earthmother to repair the damage caused by the True Elves and return the world to its natural state.

1900 Ma Ellowyn creates the Great Tree, binding the mortal world of Miranda with the Fae Lands. The elves create a paradise upon the world untouched by the dwarves.

850 Ma The first Shadow Storms forms over one of the loci.

200 Ma Mir's heart begins to expand and break its prison causing violent solar storms. The single perfect continent breaks apart driving the seven loci apart.

100 Ma The first of the gods and devils enter the mortal plane and set foot on Miranda.
