Earthmother

The Earthmother was once known as Terra. She was a powerful goddess. The Titans had charged her with the task of watching over Miranda so that the heart of a powerful Empyrean Dragon would never be used to awaken Mir. To this end she gave up much of her divinity and merged her body with the prison that held the dragon. As a fallen god she waits upon the world and watches her charge, should Miranda awake she will rise up and battle it to keep it within its prison.

She created several mortal races from the earth, stone, and ores that were hers to command. Most of her creations fell over the years until they only exist in legends. Men still tell stories of animals formed of living rock. The most famous is the crystal dragon, which is said to be a harbinger of the end of ages. It is described as looking like a great legged serpent created from quartz, with ruby eyes and claws.

The dwarves where her highest creation. They called her Raoghnaild and built great works across the world. She was proud of them, and blessed them the power of magic that could even create life. However, they incurred her wrath when they turned upon each other and were stripped of magic and the cities of the dwarves were scattered.

Age of the Gods

Main Article: Age of the Gods

During the Age of the Gods Terra worked to reshape the world of Miranda so that it would forever contain Mir's Daughter. The Sha’rek’ta had done a great deal of damage to the world when they built their great machines to draw upon the power contained within both mother and daughter. It was impossible to simply dismantle the machines without risking awakening the daughter.

To aid her in this task she did what many of the gods did and created a mortal race made from the power of this realm and blessed with life from her own power of creation.
