Shadow Realms

Each of the Realms was created when existence was fractured by the Devils when they tried to destroy this existence using the power of Krynan. The Shadow Realms are those realms that were neither free from The Chaos (Divine Realms) nor were they fully controlled by it (Infernal Realms). The Shadow Realms contains The Chaos, but it is also filled with life not corrupted by its influence. This makes it a realm that is a shadow of both the Divine and Infernal realms.

This is the power contained within the sentient beings of this realm. Unlike the spark of creation or un-life, this spiritual power can exist within all of existence. This spark has been called spirit, soul, psyche, anima, essence, breath of life, and many others by those that study its power. The power originated when the spark of creation merged with the un-life and the result did not immediately destroy both powers. Instead the powers merged and obtained some measure of harmony with this existence. Where this power gathered the Shadow Realms were created.

Miranda is a world within the Shadow Realms.

All magic upon the world of Miranda originates from the Shadow Realms in which it is contained.. A magician, wizard, sorceress, shaman, etc. is a person who can tap into this realm and draw forth its power to do their bidding. Given that the shadow realms contains both life (The Creator) and un-life (The Chaos) in the form of spiritual power it can be very dangerous to do this. It takes someone with great skill and/or resolve to draw together such forces and control them to due their bidding.
