Sylvan Vales

Few such places exist during the Age of the First Ones but once these vales numbered in the dozens scattered across the world. They were created by the True Elf not through a conscious act of will, but instead spontaneously where they gathered in large numbers.

As the elves were a creation of the power of the Shadow Realms upon Miranda their bodies called to and attracted the very essence of that power. When the world was created by the Earthmother, the power of the Shadow Realms was used like bars on a prison or straps on a truck - to bind something together. These bars or straps are called ley lines by scholars, but when first created they only touched each other at seven locations called the Black Gates.

These Sylvan Vales became places where the power of multiple ley lines were drawn together and touched, creating new ley nodes beside the seven. As the number and strength of these nodes grew they changed the very nature of the world.

With the fall of the True Elves, their numbers are far too few to support but a single Sylvan Vale. Its exact location is unknown except to the True Elves themselves.

The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life was brought into this world by Ellowyn when she arrived here from the Fae Lands. Its roots are in the fae lands, but its branches and bough live in Miranda. After The Fall and the arrival of humans the Great Elves have begun a work to bring forth a branch of the Tree of Life in those lost Sylvan Vales. Their hope is to re-create the vales and regain what they have lost.
