True Elf

The True Elves are the direct progeny of the first elves that Ellowyn created on Miranda. All of the True Elves still alive were created by Ellowyn from the Well of Life. Although Ellowyn is not a god, scholars of history mark the creation of the elves, the first sapient life on the world, as the beginning of the Age of the Gods.

They are not immortal in the same was as the gods or devils their bodies will survive as long as the power of the Shadow Realms flows over this world. Should this power ever disappear completely the bodies of all True Elves would cease to exist and their spirits free to return to the Fae Lands.

The True Elves are the spirits from the Fae Lands that either followed Ellowyn when she left or came when she called. The spirits could not reside on the Mortal Plane outside of those areas (loci) where the power of the Shadow Realms was the strongest. Ellowyn used the power of the Well of Life to fashion bodies for these spirits, her children, so that they could travel the world.

She called her children elves for that was the nature of the spirits - impish and mischievous. The elves traveled the world and while they found the most comfort in the loci where the power of the Shadow Realms was strongest they soon discovered that they could manipulate the power and spread it further across their new home.

The Sylvan Vales

The elves beseeched Ellowyn to create more of them and soon they numbered in the millions and spread across the world. They gathered in large numbers far from any loci and changed the world. They drew on the power of their own spirits and bonded it with the power that coursed over this world - they created a new loci that in time drew flows of power from the Shadow Realms to it.

When the elves first arrived there were only seven (7) loci on the world. Over the course of time measured in millions of years they created scores of new loci. These places are now commonly referred to as Sylvan Vales or Elven Glens as the spirits of the elves that first created it still reside there. These places are considered different to any who pass through them as they are not fully a part of this world, but rather a place where the barriers between this world and the Fae lands is very thin.

The Dwarves

Neither the True Elves nor Ellowyn knew that this world was a prison for the heart of Mir. The Earthmother created this prison from her own body and balanced her power with that of the Shadow Realms - allowing for exactly seven (7) loci to maintain balance. As the True Elves created their Vales they drew more power to this world and threatened the balance of the prison.

The Dawn of Life

Without the True Elves no life would exist on the world of Miranda. The Earthmother created a lifeless prison that was in balance with itself - its sole purpose was to imprison the heart of Mir. With the coming of the True Elves, the seeds of life were brought to this world.

It was not the gods that fashioned all of the life on this world, but rather the unbalancing of the loci. Each of the seven (7) original loci served a purpose, but the Sylvan Vales were as chaotic the the elven spirits that formed them. From those vales sprang all of the life on the world.
