Blackthorn Silverhammer

Blackthorn Silverhammer was smith who journeyed and befriended Aegrin, one of the great heroes of the elves. Blackthorn started life as a smith who, in a fit of pique, fashioned himself a silver hammer. This hammer was unlike any seen before as it was hard as steel and far more durable. No other weapon or tool could scratch it. Blacktorn cannot recall how he fashioned the hammer as he was deep in religious fasting during the time. A true blessing of the Earthmother.

The legends and Blackthorn Silverhammer grew greater with each telling. The mountains where he was said to have finally died were named in his honor. Dwarves, drawn to his legend, came to these mountains in search of his wisdom and the location of his final forge. They took up the honorific of Blacktorn and in time the Blackthorn Clan was founded.

His final forge, never found, is still a quest undertaken by young Ny Jordbarn priests before they take their final vows.

In Y 437 AH an expedition led by Yasmer Blacktorn ventured deeper than another other beneath Fountainhead. It was three years before two of them returned, the others considered lost. Homraz Blackthorn brought back with him a large silver maul. The smith strike on the maul was unknown to any and it was ill-suited to a forge hammer. Still many believed this is Blackthorn's legendary Silver Hammer.

Homraz returned to the mountains, preferring to live in the wilds. He has been given the honorific Darkslayer for the many times he has rescued villages and caravans from creatures of the night. He rarely speaks, just killing and then returning to the darkness to hunt again.

In the Fountainhead arc of the Legacy of Marak campaign the PCs uncovered the Tomb of Aegrin and opened the sarcophagus. They recovered the relics of Aegrin, but damaged the Tomb in the process.
