Nightsilver

Nightsilver is a silver alloy that can only be made in the deepest unseelie forges. Bound with unseelie power this silver amplifies their traits. The drive to kill or be killed beyond reason or understanding. To be stripped of hope and see things in sharp black and white reality.

One of the more prominent Nightsilver gifts given to a non-fae was when Saeya used Nightsilver to forge a bracer for her patron Mardac. Though he was once a High Elv he gave that up when he followed Queen Ellowyn to Miranda and became a True Elf. Saeya was a skilled silversmith and she poured all of Mardac's conviction and ambition into the bracer. It would shield him from those that stood in his path.

Nightsilver harnesses the unwavering strengths of the individual spirit. Things like conviction, drive, ambition, survival, beautiful violence, and stark clarity. It sharpens their animal instincts - kill or be killed - to fight and live even when abandoned by all hope.

It is very dangerous to work magic through something made from Nightsilver. Not only will it resonate with any nearby unseelie, drawing them towards the source, but it carries a heavy burden on a mortal spirit.
