Yushka

The Yusha are unseelie bipedal walking carpets. They are large, standing over ten feet, and broad in both the shoulders and chest - even their legs are thick and heavily muscled. Instead of a right hand they have an greatly oversized balled fist made from ice and stone. They cannot grasp anything with this hand, but it is great for smashing and destroying. For reasons unknown they can touch iron with this hand and no suffer the effects of other fae.

The Yushka travel the darkest and coldest realms of the Fae Lands with no harm. There is nothing found there they will not fight, but several things they cannot kill.

• Distinctions:

  • Large shaggy fur blocking all facial features
  • Oversized right hand of ice that can also touch iron
  • Leaves no tracks in snow or mud
  • Immune to cold and ice

The yushka do not build homes or any semi-permanent structure. Instead they will camp during the night and feed themselves. Come morning they will again begin their trek around their range. The yushka who are not serving a life debt are always moving, staying only as little as possible to survive. If they have to build a lean-to or other shelter they will destroy it and bury the remains when they leave. No trace of their passage is left behind.

Yushka live alone and should they ever meet they fight to the death. A yushka may walk its range over the years never coming into contact with its own kind or other fae. Beating a yushka in combat earns the victor a life debt. The yushka will fight for the victor until it is killed or bested by another opponent. If bested the debt will transfer to the new victor.

A yushka that bests, but does not kill another yushka, does not gain the benefit of a life debt. Given the next opportunity the losing yushka will kill the victor by any means available.
