Bornheim Trade Route

The Bornheim Trade Route is neither the longest nor the most heavily traveled trading route on Miran; however it is a very wealthy route to those who would brave its dangers. The route started in the city of Bornheim passed through the Elfenwald, finally crossing over the Zun River before entering Celinus, the capital of the Kingdom of Dakar.

Spices from the west, furs, exotic woods, and precious metals travel by caravan and pack along this route. While some of these goods will travel further south to the city of Valparia over 80% of the goods go between Celinus and Bornheim.

Bornheim

The western end of the trade route, Bornheim is a city of over 20,000 people. A cosmopolitan city known not only for the bustling harbor and trade market - but also for the impressive dwarven construction and bustling elven enclave. Protected by the Fuldelf Ridge from both the elements and would-be besiegers, the city has never fallen to an outside attacker.

All of the rich nobles houses of Dakar make most of their wealth owning ships that dock in the harbor or caravans that go between the two large cities.

Ulrichstein

The town of Ulrichstein not only commands the only large bridge over the Aland River, but it also sits just on the eastern border of the Elfenwald. This is the last stop for supplies or for caravans to gather so they may pass through the forest in sufficient numbers. Furthermore, this town also has a southern road that leaves and eventually reaches Valparia.

Currently the town is the seat of the Barony of Kuhn beholden directly to the crown of Dakar.

Celinus

The most eastern stop on the trade route is Celinus, the capitol of the Kingdom of Dakar. While a few finished goods travel east along the route, far more travels from the west. The exotic goods from across the sea sell for an exorbitant rate once inside of the city. Even the loss of nearly half of the caravans that travel along this route between Bornheim and Celinus is worth the profit that a single caravan can command.
