Bacco

Bacco (Barkat al Salam) was a young man when he left his home, but was already an apprentice astrologer having earned the title āləmā when he was twenty. He has a natural talent for divining the future and has used that to keep himself alive as dark forces seem to stand against him. He has found a measure of happiness, but already knows that a moment where he may die is rapidly approaching.

Bacco is taller than average standing one-hundred and sixty centimeters (5'11“ tall) with a solid build and strong face. He is not afraid to take the reins of leadership and always has a plan and several back-up plans. He is difficult to catch unawares and is willing to run. Honorable death is for those that have not prepared.

His skill at fortune-telling and understanding of the principals of astrology opened the doors to Ithid, a prestigious school for astrologers skilled enough to work at the highest levels. With his training at Ithid he was destined to find work with a powerful Pasha or possibly even one of the Sultans. His last foretelling, before he fled, told him of his mother's duplicity and his father's death at her hands. He tried to warn his father, but he could not stop it in time. Instead he fled before his mother and her new husband found out and killed him.

The stars drew him to Fountainhead and warned him of the danger in the rains and water. He takes precautions against its influence; although he has never been drawn to Aegrin and the Caves of Chaos.

During the Fountainhead arc of the Legacy of Marak campaign Bacco commissioned a small high-power, low-draw crossbow for Ottone, whom he had given the task of assassinating Alavara.
