Lord of Prinz

Lothar is not the man he once was; instead, he is more like the man he was originally. He is currently the Lord of Prinz, which he has worked to better over the years. Known for brooding in court, his friend Tobais, Baron of Ulrichstein, occasionally makes him the butt of light humor. Lothar has a reputation for speaking the unvarnished truth, even to his own detriment.

Lothar is the third son of Gottlieb Himmel, Baron of Hellbock and his second wife Lady Aidiel. His father founded the order_of_himmel along with Lady Arianna of Blue Heights to free Xianese slaves. Lothar was not interested in his father's work, so he joined his cousin working as a mercenary along the northern border of the Kingdom of Dakar.

During the Winter of 428 their mercenary company was caught in the Iron Mountains during a fierce blizzard. Cut off from the trails south, they struck towards a dwarven stadt their captain knew about. Unbeknownst to the mercenaries, a goblin encampment lay in their path. The ensuing battle was quick and deadly and only goblins remained to pick over the dead.

Drawn by the sounds of battle, Tobias Kuhn and his company arrived and killed the remaining goblins. The next morning Lothar awoke in Tobias' camp. He was told that he was the only survivor they found. Rather than leave the mountains, he signed on with Tobias. He fought side by side with Tobias for the next several years and when Tobias left for Celinus he traveled with him.

Lothar traveled in the same circles as Tobias while they were in Celinus. Unlike Tobias he was raised in court and given a basic education by a tutor. So, he was unhappy that Tobias was able to make stronger inroads among the nobility. He went on the same hunting trips and attending the same balls, but it was usually as Tobias' guest instead of on his own name.

He could not find fault with Tobias as his friend seemed to be gifted with natural charisma and leadership qualities. However, it was a bitter pill to swallow and over the months he found himself drifting farther from the royal court. The final blow was when Tobias was granted the Barony of Ulrichstein. He had been working to gain the Barony himself, but Tobias once against got the plum before he could pluck it.

When Tobias left Celinus to take up his new barony, Lothar traveled with him. He was not the same man that followed Tobias to Celinus, but he still liked the younger man. While he was in Celinus he married Juliane, the second daughter of Sir Bortz. Once Tobias announced his claim to the title Baron of Ulrichstein he proceeded to knight the men that followed him into the mountains. Lothar was granted land and named the Lord of Prinz, a small village north of Ulrichstein along the Aland River.
