Xianese People

The Xianese People are a xenophobic human culture that originally arose on the Jorgalli Peninsula of Elysian. A large war between the dominant Garaseon and Xianese tribesmen resulted in a mass exodus of the Xianese from Elysian. A long-time sea faring people, the Xianese turned their merchant ships into colony ships and left the continent - the few left behind were enslaved by the Gara.

The most successful of the Xianese was the colony established on the western shores of Miran. Bringing the worship of Zarn to the people of this land for the first time - they carved out a land that rivals their original homeland is both size and power.

Exodus

The smaller ships landed on the various nearby islands or among the other nations they warred with over the years. Most of their settlers were killed or enslaved when they landed, but a few of the largest colonies managed to survive. The Xianese did not become sea farers for trade, but rather to spread their own religion to the lessor people among them. The worship of Zarn is all-consuming among the Xianese and any who did not convert were tortured into proclaiming their sins and demon-worship.

Xian

The most successful colonization was in fact the most improbable. Their largest ships, packed to the bulwark with Xianese, set sail to cross the Isaurus Ocean. The Xianese never before tried such a journey and their ship mastery was not up for the task. Over three-quarters of the ships that set sail across the sea were lost - but the sheer size of the effort meant that hundreds of thousands of Xianese still landed in the Western Realms of Miran.

Hiding their true intentions, the Xianese befriended the elves who were losing the war against the Holy Irillian Empire. They offered to help the elves in their war if they were given sufficient land for their people. The elves readily agreed and so Xianese soldiers marched east and south - pushing back the Irillian Legion.

When the Elven Army had gathered in sufficient strength and pushed across the Caragan Sea the Priest of Zarn threw off their lamb's cloaks and summoned forth the Children of Zarn. They burned the forests and drove the elves to the north. The elven commanders could not split their army and with both battles, so they called upon their alliance with the Kingdom of Dakar. A small number of Dakarians trickled south, taking over abandoned Irillian holdings, but it was enough to slow the advance of the Xianese.

The Xianese advance was finally stopped just short of the Caragan Sea. Xian, the new homeland of the Xianese, stands as one of the most powerful nations in Miran.
