Carthins

The Carthins, also called the Carthin People, are an ethnic group whose lineage can be traced to the nomadic tribes that inhabited the eastern shore of Miran. Although they have since been displaced from those lands and primarily inhabit the northern steppes of Miran], they still refer to themselves as Carthins.

Five Tribes

The most complete oral history begins in Y893 AE when the five largest tribes that were living between the shore of the Maritic Ocean and the Anor Mountains gathered together and divided the land between them. Each of the tribal leaders agreed to limit their raids on other tribal lands and agree to a meeting of Grand Elders every five years. The five tribes were the Tlad Hith, Junkar, Shokarii, Mishtari, and Pounswap.

By 1029 each of the five tribes conquered all of the lands they claimed, taking the other tribes as slaves. Those who were not conquered fled to the Anor Mountains and became known as the Yisleppi.
