Blackblood

Blackbloods is the common term used for a Biological Family of humanoids that first came into being during the Firstborn War. This successful family has spread across Miranda and over the years spawned several species.

All of the species are omnivores with most of them having extended jawlines over those found on humans. Gestation typically lasts between four (4) to eight (8) months with multiple births common. Compared to other intelligent species adolescence is typically short with children weaned before their first (1) year. Unlike humans a blackblood child if more capable of defending itself in the first (1) year of its life. It cannot care for itself out of the womb, but it is quiet formidable within a few months.

Unlike humans the head of a Blackblood extends forward from the nasal cavity to the jawline. Each of their senses are either the same for superior to humans. Their eyes are incapable of seeing as many colors, but this is compensated for having sharper eyesight including the ability to see clearly with less light. Muscles in the ears allow them slightly rotate their ears to better hear specific locations. The larger nasal cavity gives them a superior sense of smell.
