Ikarji

This is the lost Elven City of crystal. Not even the oldest elven legends tell exactly where this wonderful city was located. The closest known passage speaks of weeks of travel north of the dwarven home. However, it is assumed that “dwarven home” in question is Stoneheart Hold; however, the dwarves once had a stronghold even father north — on the great ice pack.

Like elves everywhere they adapted to their environment as much as the environment adapted to their needs. There are old stone carvings showing elves shorter than their southern kinsfolk, with their skin painted a pale white. Most of the carvings show then wearing their hair long, but tied back into multiple braids.

Magic

The elves believe it was the inhabitants of Ikarji that taught the northern humans the secrets of magic. Why they did this is still in doubt, but many elven scholars speculate the gods compelled them to undertake this task. However, this does fully fit within the known history, as the magi were already firmly established in human society from it creation.

It is known they were able to do things that even the other elves found wondrous and the word Ikarji in ancient elven means “Most Blessed.” For this reason masters of elven magic are often referred to by the title Ikarja, meaning “Soul of Ikarji.”
