From the outside, Prince Baldar runs a small circus and acrobatic troupe called the Five Stars. He commands the show and has been praised by beggar and king alike as a man of charming wit and delightful entertainment. He is believed to a man of wealth and upbringing in some other land because of his command of many different dialects and personal dress. What is true is that he delights in bringing the new to where he is currently at and he never leaves without a heavy purse.

The truth of the matter is known only to Prince Baldar and his traveling companion. Prince Baldar and his companions were cursed thousands of years ago by a powerful jinn. They are forced to travel from one location to another, never staying longer than a lunar cycle. Each of them have lived for over a thousand years - and likely for several thousand more - cut off from any meaningful companions.
