Loren the Mageslayer

Loren is a tall, lanky human woman with golden blonde hair and slate gray eyes. Her body is crisscrossed with scars from an uncountable number of battles, if anyone could get close enough to see. She constantly wears heavy cloaks and even covers her face in all but the hottest regions. Therefore only her face and the hilt of a sword at her side are visible.

When she is on the battlefield she is completely different person. Instead of the quite and recluse woman she is in the city, she becomes a wildcat when blood has been drawn. Wearing a long chain hauberk that becomes covered with blood by the time the fight is finished. She is proficient with sword, lance, and crossbow; although she prefers the dwarven sword she wears around town (see above). If involved in a personal fight we will single out any magicians and instantly attack them. Loren will not stop until the magician is dead.

On occasion she hires out to several mercenary companies, but rarely twice in one season. This happens because of her uncontrollable nature. Only the Sable Hawks have hired her out for a second season. Background

Loren was not always this violent; although she grew up in the famed Iron Mountains. Her husband, three kids, and herself had a nice farm nestled in one of the larger valleys. Everything was going great until a battle between two powerful magicians overflowed into their home.

During the battle both her husband and eldest son were killed trying to save the life of her infant daughter. A blow so hard she did not wake up for several days struck Loren. By then the magicians were gone and her home destroyed. After burying her family she packed up her remaining belongings and headed to a nearby dwarven mining city. She vowed that day to never stop until she killed every magician in the land.

Retrieving the ore that her husband had found, she had a dwarven master smith craft a thin-bladed sword, a small shield and some mail armor. For the next 5 years she learned war craft with the dwarves in exchange for her cooking talents. After this time she finally set out and has never set her sword down since; although everyday she slowly forgets what her home was like. Equipment

Loren is almost never without her dwarven-crafted weapons. The few times she has been without them is when circumstances have forced her too. Mageblood

This broadsword is finely crafted; although plainly decorated. The master smith honed the sword to reduce the powerful defenses of a mage to almost nothing. Spell Slayer

A small target emblazoned with a bloody sword is balanced for an active defense. While it serves as a functional shield versus weapons it can turn a spell back at the magician. Mail Hauberk

This short-sleeved mail hauberk appears as a dull black due to the excess amounts of ore in its construction. Although many warriors would find this unattractive it has saved Loren's life numerous times. Against most weapon attacks the chain acts similar to normal mail, but against magical attacks it is nearly impossible to destroy. This simple suit of chain has turned even the most powerful spells.
