The Great B'zahir

  • Race: Blackblood Orc
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 26
  • Status: Outcast Shaman

Zahir was born under the sign of the Serpent on a particularly auspicious night when lights were raining down from the heavens. Her birth was very difficult and resulted in the death of her mother. With a father not interested in raising children, Zahir was taken in by her extended family. Still, the world had not heaped enough tragedy on her life. When she was six all of the women in her family, except her, contracted the plague and died within a few weeks. At age ten her village was raided by a rival family and only she and a few others survived to be taken as slaves. At fifteen the warriors raiders tired of her and dropped her in the wood to die of starvation.

It was in those woods, on the verge of death, that everything finally made sense — some external force was trying to kill her for reasons of its own. This realization gave Zahir the strength to pull herself back from death's maw and stand proud for the first time. Whatever evil force influenced her life was banished from her presense and she could sense a moment of rebirth for herself and potentially all orcs. Zahir means Angel of Death in the old tongue, she now calls herself B'zahir or Angle of Second Deaths.

Through trial and error she has taught herself the basics of her own people's shamanistic magic. The power in the earth, fire, spirit, and manipulation of the body is impossible to deny. By linking your own spirit with that of the natural world it is possible for a shaman to see the hidden things that keep others from being driven insane. Only a shaman dulled by drugs can see those things and survive.

B'zahir wears strong work clothes made mostly from leather and heavy wool. She pulls her hair into thick ropes with ceremonial lard mixed with dried herbs she gathers in the woods. Her body is covered in scars from self-inflicted burns and tattoos to remind her of all the things she believes are truths. A heavy use of various drugs, B'zahir is rarely clear-eyed anymore and the damage they have done to her body gives her a slurred speech even when her body is flushed clean of drugs.

If she is working her magic she will have over a dozen long iron bars pushed through her skin along her body. This serves to keep out the evil forces from again pulling the veil over her eyes and concealing the world's truth.

PC Connection

B'zahir does what she wants for reasons that only she could understand. If those things cross the path of the PCs, then they best not interfere. She can become very insistent is something should happen to cause her visions to fail. She feels destined to uncover some great mystery of the world that will life her people from the bounds of slavery and offer them up the keys to paradise.
