Krandryian People

The Krandryian People are comprised of several species whose cultural roots can be found in the highlands along the most eastern range of the Iron Mountains. These lands are considered holy to Vaynites whose religious order has taken root among many different species on the world. Some of these people settled in the highlands and brought with them their own beliefs and culture. Over the years this polygot land developed its own culture and sense of identity. The dominate species in the highlands are humans, but settlements of dwarf, orc, elf, and goblin are scattered among the hills and vales.

Krandryia

The coming of Kran, the once Prince of the Kingdom of Dakar and his retainers marked a turning point in the culture. He journeyed to Adderroc at the heart of the highlands where the spirit of Sanmmuhhphir resides. For a fortnight he battled the spirit in the accursed city. On the 11th day he emerged carrying Alderok, the sacred axe of Vayne. He and his companions rode across the highlands requiring all village leaders to swear fealty on the axe. Those that refused were called to battle and to the victor went the spoils, Kran never lost a single battle while uniting the land.

Kran ruled as a warlord until his natural death. He called the wisest and bravest of the land to craft the laws that would bind the highlands to their king. A king whose throne is never soft as any subject of the land who follows the teachings of Vayne may challenge the king to personal combat. The victor holds the throne.

War and battle is the mead and bread is what Krandryians are raised upon. While there is plenty of battle in the highlands are many Krandryians will leave the highlands for several years following the winds of war. The spoils and glory they earn in battle carry home to lands and renown when they return home.
