Gustav

One of these most written about heroes, the exploits of Gustav are so well known that his name still holds sway over the commoners. Born of a mating between Vayne and vykirian woman named Beiti, Gustav grew up in the cold lands far to the north. When his village was attacked he was taken as a slave by the chief of the jutland tribe. There his true heritage was discovered by the tribal shaman, who kept it a secret between them.

When he reached the age of fifteen, Gustav slew the warrior that killed his mother — then use that man's weapon to slay the jutland chief. As he bid goodbye to the shaman the hand of Vayne burst from the ground and presented an axe of unparalleled beauty to Gustav.

For over eighty years, Gustav fought both for and against the gods; however he never lost sight of his own humanity. He served the good will of the gods, but more than once clashed with them when they would unleash their anger upon the world. He has stopped tidal waves, hunted great monsters, and in his final battle slew the reincarnated devil prince Yashnak. It is said that Gustav's body is buried on the peak of the Gate of the Gods with his legendary axe still buried in Yashnak's skull.
