Magic Arms and Armor

Jeriangi

This famous blade was presented to Centurian Dexi du Loriu just before his expedition left for the dense jungles of Capri in an effort to establish a land trade route to Sundat. The Emperor envisioned a series of fortresses and trading houses along this route that would collect taxes for the goods coming from Sundat that was not being collected on their ships according to treaty. This trade route would be less dangerous during the winter storms and with the Irillian Empire controlling both the northern and southern ports heavily favor the Irillian merchants.

The blade itself was crafted, broke, and reforged by Mastersmith Sallasi. It was annointed in the venom collected from fifteen different vipers and the viper's fangs were dipped in gold and adorn the pommel. A blood runnel runs three-quarters of the blade on one-side, while the opposite it etched with the visage of Pernius. Snakeskin leather wraps the handle and the crossbar is steel fashioned in the likeness of nest of serpents. This blade would ward the Centurian from the hundreds of venomous serpents believed to live in the southern lands.

When completed it was used by Micheal of Stayne during the battles of Gorgor Pass and Jarreds Field to overwhelming success as the rebels defeated the lords mercenaries even outnumbered five to one. However, when Micheal fell during the battle of Augstein the following fall the spear was never recovered. Although it has appeared in the hands of several other would-be rebels, it has not been seen in many decades.

The spear haft is made from redwood and wrapped in leather where it would traditional be grasped when used two-handed. The head was made from reforging a shard of the armor worn by Sir Harrold when he slew the Three Knights of Avar for high-crimes against the gods. The final quenching was done in oil from the Temple of Light mixed with the blood of thirteen farmers whipped by their noble lord for crimes they did not commit. Finally, to set its thirst Arthur thrust the spear into the chest of a knight Micheal had captured. There it stayed for five days before it was finally removed.

Infantry Armour

When Cirius' eldest son was pulled into the militia and trained for war against the Dakarian's enemies, he crafted for him a suit of reinforced leather armor that would be the envy of even the nobles leading him. The leather was dyed a dark forest green and sewn with silver thread. At critical points in the armor, Cirius sewn in heavy dwarven steel plates to protect his son in battle. Finally, he used several panels and laces to increase flexibility while still offering excellent protection.

While there is no doubt his son's armor was very effective against all manner of weapons. His son was killed in battle and the body and armor never recovered — at least that is what he was told. The true reality will never be known, but when Lord Straus' son returned from the war he was wearing the armor Cirius made for his son. With the insult to the memory of his son (if not outright murder), Cirius lost all heart in creating the fine amours that set his reputation. Even when Lord Straus locked him in the dungeon, Cirius slowly died rather than make a single new piece of armor.

This shield gained is renown during the Snake wars on the southern island of Togenku during the Irillian Empire. The 15th Legion under the command of Centurian Praxs was sent to the island to secure it and construct a port from which Irillian warships could harass the Elven fleet. Over one hundred and twenty men landed on the island's shores and when the ship returned only two months later, only fifteen were alive — among them Praxs. The Irillians never did return and none of the soldiers that survived would ever speak of what befell the rest of the soldiers — only that the jungle was alive.
