Elements

This power deals with the manipulation and control of the primary elements of creation, such as Air, Earth, Fire and Water. The basic skill does not carry with it the ability to create an element, but only work with existing elements. This skill imparts the ability to work with all natural elements.

Any element used must come from somewhere - you cannot destroy or create elements. If you draw water from a pond, that pond no longer has that water, but other water will be drawn into the space. In this manner you can eventually draw all of the water from the pond leaving it barren. In the same manner the element you use must have gone somewhere, that water did not disappear it turned into steam or flowed elsewhere.

This skill may be limited depending on the amount of element that is available. A house fire has more fire than a small candle, likewise the water found in a tree is far less than that found in a lake.

Overcome

Elemental power can naturally be used to overcome all manner of physical objects. Alloys like steel will have a higher difficulty to overcome that pure stone, but the ore within still resonates with the elements used to create it.

Create an Advantage

Creating a physical natural advantage is easy with the elements around you. Changing earth into quicksand, drawing in air together to increase its density, or freezing water into ice by drawing out its heat.

Attack

This skill is commonly used to physically attack.

Defend

This skill is commonly used to physically defend.

Create/Destory an Element

This stunt gives you the ability to create or destroy a single element. You must select the element when this stunt is selected.

Elemental Perception

You can observe things as if senses were located within an existing quantity of the element within range. Your face appears within the element (so, within a fire, a pool of water, a cloud or storm, etc) which an observant bystander may notice. You can see out of the fire, pool of water, etc, and use Elements instead of Notice or Investigate for the duration.

Elemental Communication

You can “converse” with all elementals, even those that non-sentient. For sentient elementals you use your normal social skills. For non-sentient you use your Elemental skill to impart your will upon them.

Elemental Jaunt

You can travel very rapidly (practically instantaneously) between like elements. This allows you to ignore many obstacles that would normally have to be overcome. You must select the type of element that you may use when this stunt is taken. You must enter and exit the element on the same exchange.

Elemental Walk

Requires Elemental Walk. This stunt allows you to stay in an Elemental Jaunt for a number of exchanges equal to your Elemental rating. In addition you may take an number of beings of equal size as yourself equal to your rating.

Elemental Form

Requires Elemental Walk. You can wrap yourself in an elemental body. Like other Transmutation and creatures stunts you can change your physical skills or stunts to match your new form. You cannot change any skill or stunt that is intellectual as your mind is still your own.

Elemental Portal

You can open a portal to the elemental realms or planes. This is a two-way door so that creatures from those planes may also come through. The difficulty to open the portal depends on how “far” away the elemental planes are in your current location; the default from Miranda is Great(+4).

Summon Lesser Elemental

You can summon salamanders, shades, undines, gnomes, sylphs, hellions, or other elemental beings from your chosen element.

Summon Greater Elemental

Requires Summon Lesser Elemental. You can summon more powerful elemental beings from the chosen element. This stunt is often used in rituals and group workings.
