Gambling

Gambling is the knowledge of how to gamble, and more importantly how to win, in games of skill. Gambling is typically a single roll to determine the winner of the game; however it the scene is the game then it is played as a composure conflict using other social skills as complements or restrictions.

Playing the Game

Gambling can be used to find a game with a difficulty equal to the quality of the game. Characters with the Famed stunt can always find a game with a quality up to their Gambling skill without rolling, but the game is always considered high stakes. The game quality determines the size of the pot, if the pot is higher than your Resources losing might be a problem. The pot is given to the winning player as treasure or a specific item of equal quality.

High Stakes

A high stakes game as a pot two levels higher than its quality. In addition the pot always includes at least one odd or unique thing. For a Great(+4) or higher quality game the object often comes with a temporary aspect. A character can only have one of these objects at a time and until they resolve it all high-stakes games is only worth the pot.

Insufficient Funds

A character unable to pay their gambling loss immediately takes on a debt, as a temporary aspect, to the winner. Until this debt is resolved it can be compelled or tagged as any other aspect. In addition the character will not be welcome in any high-stakes games and now must roll to locate any gambling regardless of the quality.

Games of Chance

Gambling can be used in games of pure chance as this reflects the Gambler's ability to weigh the odds and bet appropriately. However, they only can use half of their skill (round down) because most of the game is driven by fate.
