Aegrin was victorious although he lost his sword arm during the battle.

He could overcome it for a short time by using his fae magic to create and arm from his body, but it was never as good as his actual arm. A few years of wandering found him among the Golden Centaur Herd. He was apprenticed to [[person:Zaor]], their lore master and keeper of the history.

He found that by some dark means they had learned to extend their lifetimes several generations. The core of this darkness was [[people:X'toltn]] and the [[orgs:Circle of Marak]]. X'toltn was not a human like the others but a [[creatures:Dark Vampire]]. He was using the humans in a large ritual to give him the power to challenge a god. X'toltn wanted to challenge the [[lore:Earth god]] [[lore:Techiuan]] for supremacy over this land.
+Aegrin did battle with X'toltn in one form or another. Each time X'toltn thought he slew his nemesis it turned out to simply be fae trickery; likewise each defeat of X'toltn and Aegrin's hands was proven to be false. Near the end Aegrin freed The People from slavery and with them woke Techiuan from his slumber. Techiuan consented to assisting Aegrin and gave to him a holy cup of everlasting water. The water would weaken X'toltn and allow Aegrin to see through his illusions.
