Arthur of Caemalen

Arthur Stohl, known as Sir Arthur of Caemalen, is a Knight of the Crown of the Kingdom of Dakar who has earned honor both on the tournament ground as well as bravery in battle. He married Lady Merrin of Oxpull becoming lord of an militarily significant manor on the northern border. For his many years of service to the crown in 457 he was named the Lord of Caemalen. Arthur remained on Oxpull and placed his older half-brother Isidor as sheriff to oversee his lands.

His father, Lord Heshin of Caemalen, was a campaigning knight for many years before he earned the title and lands of Caemalen. He had two children, Isidor and Anna, with his first wife Maria who died in 398. Arthe's father then married Lauren of Baubridge in 401 and had three children, Franziska, Carli, and Arthur. When Lady Lauren died of fever in 432 Lord Heshen courted and married Heidi of Lüg in 435.

Arthur was the third child born of Lauren and is Lord Heshen's second son; however he stood to inherit no lands or title as his father only held Caemalen in lieu of the king for as long as he lived. Barring becoming a noble lord, Arthur followed his father footsteps and sought to become a campaigning knight. With his father's connections he found a skilled knight, Sir Veremarr of Kirn, who agreed to take him on as a squire.

Young Arthur campaigned with Sir Veremarr for eight years before achieving the rank of knight himself. After that he wandered the countryside of Dakar taking part in many tournaments and helping local lords with their problems. He has seen just about all he will see and remain in Dakar, but he knows if he leaves for any extended journey the chances of him every being gifted a title will be greatly reduced. However, when Sir Arthur heard from his father that his blade was requested for a service outside of the kingdom he readily agreed as this gave him a chance to travel and serve the king directly.

Once youthful and full of spirit, the hard years of campaigning have begun to wear on Sir Arthur. His head was once full of curly brown locks, but years of wearing a helmet and age as reduced it to wispy remains around the back and sides of his head. He still manages to keep a full bushy mustache and a neatly trimmed beard, but the hair has gone gray with age.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Sir Arthur still has all of his limbs in full functioning order — even after years of campaigning. The one time he left arm was removed a very powerful magician reattached it. While it sometimes bother's him on rainy days, Master Yelpi assures him that the arm is as good as new.
