Kaito was born Lumin Retalius Selcarian, named after a great-grandfather who distinguished himself in the I Selcarian Legion. He has turned aside that life, taking the name of a man he killed in a small town of Theodova. After surviving for several years as a mercenary working for anybody with coin in the Free Cities Kaito had amassed a small mercenary company.
The company gained the moniker Bloodletters for their brutality and ruthlessness. For the right amount of coin any job could be purchased. Kaito had a flair for finding the desperate willing to risk anything. Rumors have started several times that he or his men are adherents of Danshi, but nothing has been proven.
In Y459 he accepted five times his normal pay by Charles to secure the lands around Tminir Tower. Kaito's second-in-command, Jiron, commands these men while Kaito waits in Ulrichstein with a few hand-picked men.
