A Vampyre is not undead and not a true vampire; although a vampyre would consider themselves the only true vampire as they are the direct ancestors of vampirism in the world. A vampyre is created by a Dark Vampire when they imbue a small measure of power into a mortal.
A vampyre has many of the same physical limitations as their creators. They cannot abide the light and must move around under the cover of darkness. They do not have any problems with power from either the Divine or Infernal Realms. They are not undead and suffer from none of their inherent limitations. They can create undead and it is believed that all undead began with the Dark Vampires.
