Thakadaneous

While he lived Thakadaneous was nothing more than a journeyman magus studying under masters at Asklepion, the Librarium of Life. He was very adapt at blood magic which is why he was working on the spells necessary to extend a man's lifespan to rival an elf. Thakadaneous had perfected a single method that worked, but only at the cost of completely draining someone else's life energy. He was sure he would have been able to perfect the spell so that it only took a small measure of its victim's life but he never had the chance. An elven army thirsting for revenge attacked the Librarium and destroyed everything.

The elves built a enormous pyre from all of the Librarium's books and scrolls. Into this raging fire they threw everyone they captured inside the Librarium. Grown men, women, and children alike were roasted to death, each of them pleading for mercy to no avail. Unlike the others, Thakadaneous had prepared himself and while his body burned he merged his body with the marrow in his bones. When the army left Thakadaneous was the only survivor, if you could call it that as he could neither walk nor talk. Over the generations he waited as the bodies of the others where blown upon the wind.
