Lydia

Lydia is a skilled bounty hunter and has been for nearly 70 years. She has a reputation for deadly efficiency, rarely bringing back her bounty alive. She prefers to work in the wild spaces where people run to hide. Many may find elves aloof and alluring, but Lydia is far more earthy and menacing. Even the people that pay her would rather not spend too much time in her presence - and she spends her time reinforcing that reputation.

Lydia grew up among the tribal elves in the northeast region of Ellendar; however she found far more happiness among the other races in their cities of stone and wood. Because her house dealt with the human cities of the Three Kingdoms and the Kingdom of Dakar so often, many of the other tribes that had goods to trade would often seek out her house to bargain for their goods. Her beauty and near skill with several human languages often made her the one to negotiate any difficult trades.

As a moth is drawn to the flame, she was drawn to the undersides of the human cities. They were drenched in filth and filled with places that dealt in anything someone with money could want. It was curiosity that a people who built so many wonderful things could also be the founders of such vile depravity. It was on one of her expeditions into the back alleys that she was assaulted by three men. When she finally escaped five days later her mind had retreated from the abuse of her body — what she did to the men on her way out is best not mentioned.

The abuse was so great that her personality fractured and her darkest hatreds bubbled up from within. It was this hatred that fueled her escape from her captors and it still has control over her life. While her true personality will occasionally surface — it is Lyrdin that now runs her life. Lyrdin is cruel, punishing, and lives in the darkness that most fear. The personality of Lyrdin has turned her into one of the most feared bounty hunters in Dakar.

Most humans would consider an elf to be a creature of beauty and grace — Lydia was considered beautiful even by other elves. Her bright golden hair cascaded gentle down her back ending just above her waist. Her facial symmetry, high boned cheeks, and striking blue eyes leave a vivid impression on anyone looking at her. An elf's natural grace seems to be increase in Lydia as she moves with a dancer's sway just walking down the street. That was before the incident.

Now when she has descended into her darker personality she swears like a sailor and becomes as crude as any human. She threw out her sheer silks for rough leathers and wickedly curved knives. Anyone that even mentions that she is an elf may find their guts on the table before them just and their life's blood drains from their body. Just as Lydia is beautiful — Lyrdin is cruel and sadistic.
