Lórion

Lórion is a water nymph known for both her prowess and unsettling beauty. She travels the great waters of the Isaurus Ocean in search of prey. She has waited patiently for centuries for particularly interesting creatures to grow into their power before stalking them. She abhors those who kill the defenseless or juveniles. The hunt should be not just worthy but show respect for the one being hunted. Mortals are simply other creatures that she hunts, Lórion shows no additional deference to them over any other prey.

Most of those who have seen her in the open ocean say that she has a mostly humanoid form that appears carved from ice with hair that cascades down and churns back up. Her eyes glisten and glitter like pearls as long as you are not her prey - her prey only see the black orbs of the hunter. The lower half of her body only flows into water, even when walking on the deck of a ship or along the shore her “legs” is only a column of water.

Lórion first ventured into the world during the Dark Ages when the world was dangerous even to the powerful fae. She settled into the ocean depths and danced in the storm. Enamored by the world she petitioned Queen Aerwyna for the power to stay in this world as long as she wished. Although Lórion was wyldfae and not subject to her court she granted the nymph's request is she swore a personal bond of fealty to her.

Karash

When the gods returned to the world as avatars Karash stretched his power across the full domain of the seas. Lórion was not pleased with his interference in her seas and pushed back - hard. The avatar Karash chose was a great whale and Lórion rose to the challenge of the hunt. Their battles were titanic and immortalized in legend. Lórion always held the upper hand, but could never bring Karash to a final battle.

Nephils, one of the magi, hated the return of Karash and the other gods. The world was theirs and the interference of outsiders was intolerable. She worked with several others to lay a trap for the “sea god” and destroy him. Her plan worked and Karash was bound to the bottom of the Haellican Sea. Lórion was both angered that her prey was denied her, but more importantly Karash was not killed but trapped to eternal suffering.

Lórion waged war on Nephils and the magi that helped her. She killed the others, but refused to grant Nephils the finality of death until she paid for her sins. When she freed Karash she bound Nephils to the sea and killed her by entombing her in ice. The ice is forever bound to the floor of the sea so that her folly would not be forgotten.

The songs say that since that day Karash has been in love with the nymph. He has showered her with gifts and adoration, but she has steadfastly refused to acknowledge him.
