Lannoth was a powerful wizard who had been thought long dead. One day, phoenix_force came across an old magical lodestone. Hellstrom Darkmaster was overcome by the ghost of the lich and controlled to create a new body for the dead wizard. He summoned an army of dead, and they cut a swath through the Kingdom of Dakar and the Republic of Irill.

Pheonix Force pursued him, but were unable to defeat him before he took over the city of Corvis. The city, formerly known as the City of Wizards, was overtaken within days.

Since that time, the Lich King has stayed in Corvis, only acting through agents that he sends on missions. He has not acted openly since overtaking the city.
