Janos

Janos is older and more cantankerous than just about anyone else. He loves to remind everyone of their youth and inexperience; although he displays no obvious talent that far supersedes any other master craftsman. A brick layer by trade, the strength of his youth may be sapped, but he is still strong enough to give out a thrashing when someone needs it. His black hair has gone gray and his once swarthy skin is no more a yellowish pallor. His hands and voice still give power to his character and he has yet to bend back to anyone.

Aside from his outwardly appearance he has a strange unnatural charisma that draws others too him. He takes care of those who take care of him and doesn't mind a bit of spilled blood from his enemies. He is brutal against those that wronged him, but is willing to wait for the proper moment.

Janos was born into a family of bricklayers in the town of Hekilli along the Malswan River. He learned the trade at a young age and soon gained the title of journeyman. He married Willa whose family bred horses in the next town over. By all accounts they were a happy coupled, but Willa died only a few years later from a plague that swept through the area - spread by an infected gnome. Janos never remarried; although his trade and Willa's dowry made him quite wealthy.

As he grew older he grew ever more alone. Nobody in the town doubted his ability or the work gangs he employed. He was truly a master craftsman, but his personality was too off-putting for him to rise to the height of his ability. He always did dance close to the edge of accidents among his competition and outright warfare, but as the years pressed on he branched out into extortion, bribery, and even murder. There are always plenty of hands among his workers for extra coin for a dirty job - especially if it involved a non-human.

In 456 AH he was drawn by some unknown force to the town of Fountainhead. Once there he quickly gathered the craftsmen willing work dirtier than others to get the job done and get paid. In less that four (4) years he became the highest construction boss - even controlling many of the other tradesmen in the town. Nobody makes nothing unless he gets his cut.
