Father Karl

Father Karl is a fiery and dynamic speaker - a skilled orator. He feels in his element when he has a crowed emotionally whipped into a frenzy and he rides that emotional roller coaster. Although he calls himself Father, Dono, or a Priest; he has switched religions many times during his life. He real passion is the overthrown of overlords over the common people. He want the people who do the work to have an equal say in the running of the farm.

He worked long hours in the fields himself and he comes from a peasant family. His desires are authentic and come from his heart. He is not afraid of a little sweat and loves to dig into a problem and help any member of his flock. He will also travel the immediate area looking for chances to recruit or help. A self-trained scholar he still knows how to plow a field and plant a crop.

Even during his youth Karl was a fire-brand and agitator. His family were poor farmers who share-cropped for a landlord who took every greater shares of their crops. He made demands on their time and often had them working his lands for so long they had less time to work their own share of the land. Karl was the first of their village to stand up to him. He got beat soundly by the lord's men and left with a broken arm.

He returned months later and this time he brought his own people with him. The villagers railed behind him. He was a passionate speaker who gave them answers to why they were so poor and the lord so rich. He exploited them and their labor. The farmers grabbed up their pitchforks and confronted the lord. The outcome was already set - the villagers were put to the sword by skilled mercenaries in armor. They captured Karl and smeared his reputation. Karl was forced to leave his village.

Fountainhead

When Father Karl arrived in Fountainhead he was lost and the forgetfulness of the city enveloped him as a warm blanket. He staggered on over the planting and harvest until he found himself lost in a network of caves. After stumbling around in the dark a light grew in the center of his sight. Inside the light was a large pewter cup. The cup was filled with water, which he drank his fill.

The water of the cup opened his eyes to the truth of what is happening. He has tried to tell everyone, but it was not until he met Benevenuta that someone finally connected with him. They are connected in a way that he does not understand, but he does know that the go Techiuan is calling him to task. The god speaks to his through the cup and has a message to help the people of this land remember whom they were.
