Donagal

Donagal is a goblin who is often found practicing his trade at the Widow's Wake, the worst tavern in Fountainhead. He gathers information from his runners during the day and ventures into the city at night. He keeps abreast of things in Waterdeep and the Three Sisters District with a scattering of information about the other areas of the city.

He is a equal opportunist broker. If you pay for something you get it, but you better act fast as he is likely to resell information if someone comes along with a better deal. One day he will end up killed in a alley for back selling information, but he is a survivor.

Donagal was never content to stay in his village. He would often wander to other villages just to see if things were better. Eventually he found a Sunna town and decided to stay. He started with doing small jobs just to discover interesting things - what he discovered was that most people seemed to forget he was there. They would talk and he would listen. Eventually he found a way to sell what he knew to other people.

This was not a profession without risk as many people do not like their secrets to be spoken to others and he was run out of many different towns. Like a vagabond he moved from town to town and eventually to a larger city where he could hide better. In the city of Kell he was rich enough that instead of gathering bits himself he paid other people to risk their lives to discover information. He then only ventured out on the promising targets.

Kell was the first city where he encountered rivals that could match him. At first the three of them tried to work together, to split the pie, but betrayal was too close at hand. It was too much to simply want the largest piece of the action. Donagal eventually sold out one of them and the other sold out him. All three escaped the hangman's noose and mob, but Donagal had to flee Kell.

Donagal wandered north to the city of Fountainhead. It was a strange place with all the people of a decent city, but something about the people always seemed off to him. He has been here since the last harvest and has settled into his role. He is entertainer and bard wrapped into a seller of secrets. People can find him, but so far nobody seems interested in silencing or killing him - both positives for him.
