Carlotta Heraklia

I've rethought my background. The more I thought about my first idea, the more creeped out I became. I've decided I want no part of playing that, so I have decided simply to be a runaway bride. It was an arranged marriage, and the groom got so drunk at the reception that he passed out when we got to the bedroom. This freaked my out, since I didn't know him very well, so I packed my things and split. I'll leave it for you to flesh out his background if you want to use him as a plot element, but I'm thinking he doesn't have to be a drunken lout, he could just have been very nervous about getting married, and ended up drinking too much that one night. Truth is, I'd prefer if he turned out to be someone I could reconcile with.

General information on the rest of her background, picture her as a tomboy growing up, hanging out with her father and three older brothers in the woods, learning to hunt, fish and track. When she was 12, her older sister got married, and Carlotta took over a job her sister was doing before, cooking and cleaning for a mage that lived nearby. He was a harmless old man, who taught Carlotta mage speach and how to read. Carlotta would borrow books from him to read, mostly about creatures, a subject she finds fascinating.

Here are the pertinent stats for the character. I narrowed her focus a little bit, spending a lot of points on her bow skill and losing any lore skills that weren't creature related.

Her Father is a Rural Freeman, Forester, Not Liveried.

This gives her Basic knowledge in QStaff, Archery, Tracking and Finding Direction.

She gets +2 AP, giving her 18 total.

She also gets three skill raises. I chose to raise Archery, QStaff and Tracking. She has the following background skills Alertness Sight, Alertness Sound, Dodge, Speak Irrilian, Accurate Counting, Local Geography, Cooking, Sewing, Stamina and Willpower. I'm starting the game without Brawling, having given it up for Cooking and Sewing. We will also need to figure out exactly where I am from, for the local geography skill. Sibling rank, I am the 5th child, With three older brothers and 1 older sister. I am a black sheep, Social status 7.

I do not have a special ability,

I do have a deficiency, Slovenly, with a 4% penalty to Appearance AR. I figure my character always manages to look like she has been out in the woods, disheveled hair, twigs in her hair and on her clothes, that kind of thing. This also confers a penalty to Charm, Diplomacy, Courtly Love and Leadership. My character is 5'10“. She has a build of 3 and weighs 132 Lbs. This gives her a body of 42. She has a fatigue of 32.

Her jump is 10, her BAP 18. LCAP is 172, CCAP is 86. Horoscope Came out a Libra. This gives her 2 Lore or Perception Skills. I chose Mage Speech Written and Mage Speech Spoken.

Her Tertiary skills are Irillian Written, LeatherWorking and Swimming. She is 17, and starts with 4500 Exp.

I chose the forester vocation. Because my father was also a forester I get bonus skills, Basic Knowledge in Endurance, Conditioning, Finding Water and Finding ones location. For my 10 skills I chose Foresters Stealth, Foraging for Wild Foods, Blending into ones Surroundings, Knife and Dagger Fighting, Setting and Disarming Snares, Herbalism, Bowery and Fletching, First Aid, Bestiary Lore and Fishing.

For my 5 masteries, I would like to chose Tracking, Forester's Stealth, QStaff, Archery and Bowery and Fletching. I will need your permission to do this, as technically I am required to have half my masteries in outdoor skills. If you want to enforce the rule, I will move the Bowery and Fletching mastery to Blending into ones surroundings.

I have 4500 experience to spend. I would like to drop it on the following skills. 2000 experience to buy 4 levels with Archery. 500 experience to buy the Short Bow specialty. 600 experience to buy Faerie Lore as a Tertiary. 700 experience to buy Magical beast lore as a Tertiary. 600 Experience to buy Magical and enchanted races lore as a tertiary. This leaves 100 experience unspent.

For Equipment, I start the game with 70 Silver pennies, and an average quality weapon for each combat mastery I have. I will start with an unshod quarterstaff, not having any real reason to have the heavier weapon, and a short bow. One question I have is how many arrows this comes with, as I couldn't find it in the rules. In any event, I don't see myself having anything but hunting arrows to start with. I'd have no reason to have war arrows.
