Carlos VanBuren was sold to Makal Orlean, the Emerald Wizard, by his parents when he was only 5 years old. He preformed chores around the house until he was old enough to assist in his master’s magic. It was then that Carlos then discovered why the old man bought him — his body acted as a natural connection to the magic around him. Under the studies of Master Orlean, Carlos honed his channeling skills until he could pull the fire out of a small torch.

It was then that his world was turned upside down. Carlos was sent into town to gather a food of the foodstuffs they were missing.

Carlos is a powerful chaneller; although he has very little skill in manipulating his power. In combat he will prefer to act as the company’s battery and power source when necessary. He is sure to only give each person as much magic as they can handle. If forced to fight a fellow wizard, Carlos will feed more magic into the enemy then they can handle — effectively burning them out.

Personality: Growing up without a family or any type of support, Carlos is constantly seeking assurances from others as to his own worth in the Knights Arcana. While some may doubt his skill or knowledge, none have ever fallen prey to burning out because of a weak channeler. In fact, although considered very dangerous there is not a single knight that has worked with Carlos that would think twice about him assisting them.

Carlos stands around 5’6” and weights 110 lbs. His slight build and small frame remind people of someone half-starved. Instead, Carlos will eat more than three full grown men; especially after a long session of channeling. Carlos doesn’t change the standard outfit of the Knights, except for a small bracelet he carries on his left wrist crafted from a single emerald.
