Zentirovans

The Zentirovans or more commonly called Zents, are a cultural group on the southern lands of the Tarakian Islands. Initially named on account of the name of their Fire God they would chant during battle, the Zents developed a raiding culture focused on seamanship and personal courage. The Zents rarely took hostages and never kept slaves, anyone taken during a raid was likely to face sacrifice to their god.

It is clear the Zents are related to the Sunna of the Children of the Sun. Their skill is dark-brown with slightly kinky hair and dark eyes.

The Zents speak Zentrovan; although most have picked up a at least a passing language from the crew of the ships that dock at the harbor.

The main religion among the Zents is more a sacrificing for the gods to steady their hand instead of killing them outright. The god of Fire has awoken the volcanoes to kill thousands, while the sea god wrecks their ships at sea. There is no belief that these gods can be reasoned with or even soothed. Instead the best that a man can hope for is that they stay their hand. Speaking for the people to the gods are the Stormbringers and Wavedancers. The Stormbringers quiet the volcanoes while the Wavedancers distract the sea-god.

The Zents will occasionally erect temples to the gods, but rarely will maintain or provide upkeep. It is usually a group asking for permission for a large undertaking. Once the undertaking has been accomplished or fails the temp will slowly fall into ruin. The islands are dotted with thousands of temple ruins.

The Zents are sailors for boats both big and small. They often hire themselves out to various captains. The largest number of these are ships of Talarak the pirates and free-booters are always looking for more skilled crew.
