Phoenix Clan

The Phoenix Clan was one of the first dwarven clans to settle in the Rakarian Valley. Known for their masons they established several mining settlements. They remained isolated from other clans and preferred a monastic life of isolation and self-sufficiency. The dwarves of the clan were deeply religious and considered stone masonry to be holy in both work and use. They were considered among the best stone masons, blessed by the Earthmother. Stone works made by them still fetch high prices at market.

The clan was created by the heads of three devoutly religious families. Yuelda Stonechip, Haggoth Redaexson, and Corric Twice-Blessed. These three left took their families and left behind their clans and moved to the Rakarian Valley and forged their own clan.

The Phoenix Clan only settled in the valley and along the Fuldelf Ridge. They isolated themselves from other dwarven clans that settled near them. They rarely traded with other cultures, preferring to remain self-sufficient.

The Phoenix Clan was more insular that most dwarven clans, which are already highly insular. The council of Thanes personally approved of any marriages to other clans and never approved any to dwarves without clan.
