Uhl

Uhl is the god of the Turanians - there is no other god before him. He resides in the heavens and keeps a watchful eye over his people and those who would bedevil them. He is not a god that interferes with the activities of his followers, instead he visits upon them visions and messengers.

Above all things Uhl holds truth, purity, and wisdom as the highest tenets. So difficult are these tenets that only those who train their entire lives can ever hope to obtain true wisdom. As no mortal could ever understand the nature of all that is Uhl, several schools of thought have sprung up to comprehend what can be understood.

Path of the Flame

Those who follow the Path of the Flame are more commonly called Alchemists among the Turanians. These alchemists study the natural order of the world as they unlock the true nature of all things and how they are interconnected. Masters not only of naturalism, but herbalism and metalurgy - an alchemist relies of science and vast amounts of knowledge.

The strongest adherents of this knowledge believe that it should be freely available to any who wish to pursue knowledge in their understanding of Uhl; however, only the purist alchemist shares all of their secrets. For some they use this knowledge to advance themselves while others believe that knowledge is useless without understanding the path to it. No matter the reason, the alchemists have used their influence and wealth to build vast libraries, laboratories, and foundries for their labors.

It is said that alchemists hold truth above all other things.

Path of the Stars

Those who follow the path of the stars, called Sages, see this world as little more than a small world in vast ocean of worlds. They seek to understand this larger place and so guide their own lives and those around them. Just as the smallest plant lives within a vast forest - so does this world live within a vast dark sea of worlds. As the forest would die if the plant does not play its part - so will the sea die if this world does not due its part. Each person upon this world is part of a much larger tapestry and must play its part correctly. There is no shame in being the plant nor any glory in being the mighty tree.

These sages serve as teachers and guides for each individual so that they may be the string that is part of the tapestry and not the knot or thread that falls apart. They spend most of their time wandering and learning how all things are as one. They may stay in one location for years, but in the end understanding such a vast sea requires that they move and see things with a different eye.

It is said that sages hold wisdom above all other things.

Shaharri

The shaharri are the most reclusive of the major orders of Uhl. These monastics live a very simple life never eating what they have not prepared, wearing clothes they have not made, or using things they have not fashioned. This is due to their belief that one must have complete knowledge of their surroundings. Once a monastic settles into a place they will not move on until they reach a true spirituality of their place. Once achieved they will wander until they feel out of place and then meditate upon their new home.

A wandering monastic is a good sign as the area they are traveling through has reached a state of purity and harmony with the will of Uhl. A monastic that stays too long in a single location can be a sign of disruption or evil. If a monastic takes on an apprentice that shows Uhl's favor to the family, while the gathering of monastic masters bodes ill for anyone nearby.

The monastics hold purity above all other things.
