Stone of Truth

The misnamed Stone of Truth is a large uncut amethyst in the vague shape of a teardrop. The wide base of the stone has been cut off so that it flat enough to stand upright with only a slight wobble and tilt. The top is not tapered into a single point, but instead has several crystals sticking out of the base of varying length which gives the visual impression of a teardrop.

When the stone is infused with magic it gives off a slight purplish glow that grows brighter in the presence of mortals. Anyone holding, or nearest to the stone, will be able to see the darkest nature of those around them. These natures are reflections of their greed, lust, gluttony, pride, wrath, sloth, and envy. Those affected will not speak of their sins, but instead the holder is given vague knowledge about them.

In the Sorcerers Kingdom the stone was used by the Circle of Marak on those who sought an audience with them as well as new initiates into their order. Mistress of Darkness had become so good at reading the truth uncovered by the stone she was believed to have the ability to see through all lies.

Fountainhead

In Y 460 AH, during the Fountainhead arc of the Legacy of Marak campaign the stone was unearthed in the false top of the Tomb of Aegrin. It was eventually turned over to the Mistress of Darkness in exchange for safe passage through her domain.
