Solar System

There are six planets that revolve around this system's yellow sun: Lyonis, Miranda, Bale, Vayn, Turven, and Kelas. Any mention of time is with respect to time as counted on Miranda. The solar system is made of the physical objects that exist within a given Dominion. All things with these natural laws of physics are referred to as the Physical or Mortal Plane.

This planet is about 3,800 miles in diameter making it the smallest planet in the system. Its orbit 32 million miles with a 5% shift between the perihelion and aphelion, which also makes it the closest. On average Lyonis takes 28 days for it to orbit the sun and it has no rotation about its axis. There are no moons orbiting Lynois.

Lyonis is a lifeless dark-red planet whose surface is cratered by the number of asteroids pulled in by the sun and deviated enough by its own heavy gravity. These asteroids have given Lyonis a very metal heavy surface which allows it to reflect a great deal of the sun's light. Many ancient cultures mistook this planet for a small moon or the baleful eye of a god.

Four times a year this planet will interpose itself between the sun and Miranda. These days are known to be very powerful days for magicians.

Main Article: Miranda

The only planet that supports life and the center of my campaign. It is the only planet that orbits in the habitable zone of the solar system.

Bale is covered in clouds that stop anyone from seeing the surface with even the most powerful sights or magic, this planet remains a mystery. It's about 4,500 miles in diameter and orbits the sun at an average orbit of 146 million miles with only a 3% shift. Its complete orbit takes just over 736 days to complete with a full rotation about its axis of 30 hours with a 8% rotational tilt. A single moon, Calla, orbits the planet. Because it reflects gets so little light the best time to view this planet is during dawn or dusk and the sun at your back. Then it sits like a pale milky orb in the sky.

Beaferon was once a planet in the solar system until the Age of the Gods when it was destroyed. The fragments of this large planet scattered as an asteroid belt orbiting the sun.

Titiana is the largest planet (gas giant) within the solar system with a diameter in excess of 90,000 miles and and orbit averaging 490 million miles with a 15% ellipse. Its complete orbit is just under 4823 days with an axes rotational rate of about 18 hours. Two large moons, Cyni and Tyrin, remain in opposing geosynchronous position above the planet. Its angry red surface seems to glare down from the very top of the world.

Turven is a black planet more resembles a moon that any other planet. Its very high concentration of metals give it its unique color. With a diameter only 28,000 miles and an orbit almost 2 billion miles from the sun, only the most powerful magics can reach that far into the heavens and watch Turven. It takes Turven just over 84 years to complete its orbit, while its rotational orbit is just over 60 days and it has no moons. The oldest writings of the ancients called this a place of death, where only the foolish dared tread. This has led many to speculate this is where the Lord of Death resides, judging the souls in the afterlife.

Kelas is a large planet with its dense ice and rock rings is the farthest planet from the sun, its erratic orbit is over 4 billion miles out causing it to take over 300 years to make a complete orbit. With a diameter of just over 70,000 miles and a reverse axial rotation of just under 3 days it is the second largest planet in the system. Ten moons: Atar, Micius, Pern, Darion, Diosius, Bedus, Namor, Cridius, Helveris, and Dedjor orbit about the planet.
