Living Forges

These forges were fashioned by the Earthmother from the elemental power of the Eldar. Combining stone, metal, fire, wood, air and water, she fashioned a physical device in which she placed a small sliver of her own creation (spark of life). Terra created nine of these forges and gave one to the Forge Master of each dwarven clan.

These forges cannot create true life as the spark of life is to small and limited. Instead, the forges can be used to give a “false life” to things created from the elements of this existence. It is possible for a very skilled master to create something that is so perfect that it appears alive

Main Article: Soul Metal

This was the master creation of Nathan Truestrike and is a unique creation to this day. The Incar, which are more commonly called Soul Metal, was a miniature humanoid creation that clearly showed the signs of a master craftsman, but it was a single unique feature that set it apart from all others - it could create more of its kind. This was not some simple machine like other dwarves created over the years that could create simple objects, the Incar could create another Incar in exact detail including the “life” it was given. No matter how many other Incar it created its own life was not diminished.

When the other masters gathered together and saw this creation they named Nathan a Grand Master of the Forge and placed his name above all others. This event is what directly led to the Brothers War as other Masters of the Forge tried and failed to create the Incar. Instead, the leaders of the other clans decided to take what they could not craft.
