Dominion

A dominion represents the area of physical existence that has coalesced around one of the prisons that cage the Celestial Dragons. In modern terms, a dominion is a single solar system in the physical world.

While a dominion includes all of the suns, planets, asteroids, and other stuff that physically make up the solar system, metaphysically it is much more than that. The nature of magic, the outer realms, and the shadow realms are all part of the dominion. A single dominion also encompasses hundreds if not thousands of smaller realms that do not exist within the physical space, but instead lie only within the Shadow Realms. Examples of these include the Fae Lands and the Sea of Storms.

Beings of the outer realms (Infernal Realms and Divine Realms are not part of this dominion and thus cannot enter it without risking their own existence and the existence of the dominion. Instead, powerful beings create bridges, called planes that exist between their realm and one or more dominions. Mortals know these places as Elysium, Paradise, the Verdant Woods, Plains of Hell, and many other names. Beings of the outer realms may fully manifest themselves in these places without the risk of destroying the dominion. Many beings use these small realms to exert influence upon the dominion through either their own power or directing mortals within the dominion.

There is a risk for the being to fully manifest its power within these smaller realms. They gain the ability to direct their power directly against the dominion - effectively using their realm as a filter to stop their power from destroying the dominion. They also gain the ability to temporarily (at least in their terms) a physical body within the dominion so they can influence things directly. This body cannot contain any of their Primal Power, but it is still very powerful.

The very real danger is that should the realm be destroyed while they are in it - they will be forever destroyed. They will simply cease to exist beyond any capability of returning. If their realm is destroyed while they are in a physical body - they will be trapped upon the physical world until this physical body is destroyed or worn out. At that point they will cease to exist.

Any being that chooses to fully manifest in their realm or upon the physical world may find their realm under immediately attack from other beings that wish to take their power for their own.
