 ====== Classic Age ====== ====== Classic Age ======

-The **Classic Age** starts with the rise of the first [[creatures:human]] civilizations. Those created by the [[lore:gods]] or the unleashed chaos of magic during the [[lore:Age of Legends]] have been driven from most of the worldsurviving only in the shadowed and isolated placesThe world belongs to the children of the [[lore:Magi]]. Chief among the children are the humans.+The **Classic Age** starts with the appearance of [[people:Feuledalyre]] among the humans. The humans knew of the elves and dwarves, but both races had very little to do with them. Feuledalyre served as an ambassador from the elves to hundreds of human civilizations. Literaturetheater, and the arts flourished in the rebuilt city-statesUnlike many of the other races the humans rebuilt within the first century and once again trade began to flow between civilizations that rose from the ashes. Before he left the guidance of humans to other elves he passed on the knowledge of magic.

-The gods and [[lore:devils]] have returned to the world, but can no longer enter the world without unraveling all of existenceInstead they find receptive followers among the humans. Unique among the Magi's children, the spirits of humans were forged within the [[lore:Shadow Realms]]. Each one contains only a sparkbut in the thousands they are a bonfireFor all of mankind's existence these beings will seek to control and manipulate them.+After several more centuries of expansion the first seeds of religion began to take rootMuch of the history of the previous millennia was lost with the destruction of the great civilizations ([[atlas:Mesinite]], [[atlas:Yu-an]], [[atlas:Grippa]], and [[atlas:Khall]]). The oral history of the first humans was changed by the survivorsThe servitors of the gods appeared among the humans and taught their own beginnings.

 +The arrival of the [[lore:Eye of the Magi]] was preordained by many scholars and priests, but the length of its influence still wrought great changes upon the world.

 +===== Era of Reason =====
 +
 +After years of barbarism driven by the chaos of the comet the arrival of [[people:Feuledalyre]] among the human survivors. Most of the cities were abandoned as humans returned to nomadic hunting and subsistence farmingWhat little trade existed had to use land routes as the severe storms still lashed the seas. Feuledalyre and dozens of his followers rebuilt human civilizations according to their beliefs. It is often recognized that [[people:Theric of Dorran]] was the first human philosopher to expand beyond his elven teachers. [[atlas:Dorran]] became the center of human aspirations with advances in mathematics, astronomy, and the sciences.
 +
 +The world witnessed several centuries of peace as the youngest race outgrew its barbaric tendencies. Other races would consider this the start of the [[lore:Silver Age]].
 +
 +
 +===== Era of Magic =====
 +
 +As the great writers, scientists, and philosophers rose among the humans Feuledalyre's time in this world drew to a close. Before he returned to the [[lore:Shadow Realms]] he discharged the final duty the elves promised the [[lore:magi]], he taught the humans magic. The human mind was incapable of understanding the nature of the Shadow Realms as the elves and other [[lore:elder races]], instead Feuledalyre taught the humans using imagery they could understand.
 +
 +Human magic was that of great rituals involving incantations, formula, and trappings. The magi had blessed their creations with a unique ability to understand complex ideas by first breaking them into a series of simple understandings. Although all humans were capable to practicing and learning magic in reality magic was only learned by the great scholars, who in time would horde this knowledge as a sign of their own superiority.
 +
 +With the ability to harness the magic of the world the elder races welcomed the humans to a new level of understanding. Only the [[creatures:dwarf|dwarves]] still refused to meet with the youngest race. It is believed that the strongest dwarves clan leaders put a death bounty on any dwarf caught trading with the humans. Even speaking to a human was a sign of moral weakness.

 +===== Era of Expansion =====
 +
 +Magic fueled a new era of expansion; although the elder races were so diminished that the humans had plenty of land to conquer without driving them from their homes. The [[atlas:Sorcerers Kingdom]] was center of all power and learning. By controlling access to magic they controlled all humanity. They dealt harshly with anyone teaching a non-citizen about magic. Instead of conquering or controlling vast populations they had their "captured" cities pay a yearly tribute.
 +
 +With one force driving for expansion, small city-states soon grew and kingdoms were forged among these cities. The Sorcerers Council would assign a consul to serve their interests in the city, but in all other matters the city-state was free to do as it pleased. This was the first human empire to touch all of the seas. It was said that the sun never set on the Sorcerers Kingdom.

 +
 +===== Era of Religion =====

 +With the prominence of magic controlling one's future, humans unable to control magic turned to the servitors of the [[lore:gods]]. With trade flowing missionaries from other cultures arrived in the kingdom. They spread the word of their god, often changing the message to soothe the ego of humans. Humans simply did not take up the worship of these gods, but also constructed huge temples, statues, and monuments to honor the gods.

-==== Y0-499 ====+All of the greatest religions in the world have their beginnings in this era, but in 1998 the [[lore:Eye of the Magi]] again appeared in the sky and turned the world upside-down.

-==== Y500-999 ====

-==== Y1000-1499 ====+===== Second Comet =====

-==== Y1500-1999 ====+The second appearance of the comet called the [[lore:Eye of the Magi]] was a deeper shade of read than previously. This is also the first known record of the second tail. Unlike the violence and cataclysmic destruction caused by the first appearance, most of humanity suffered from malaise. Entire cities starved to death as humans lost the will to live and eat. Those who managed to survive migrated hundreds of miles from the cradle of human civilization.

-==== Y2000-2499 ====+The five sanctuaries overseen by the elves soon became thousands of smaller human tribes scattered across the world. The elder races did not foresee that this was the start of human domination of Miranda.
