Wetlands Biome

The wetlands biome land that is permanently or seasonally saturated with water. These are not just areas with dry ponds the fill during the rainy season, but instead where the water table is at or near the surface of the water. The soil is wet enough to support aquatic plants. Commonly referred to as marshes, swamps, bogs, fens, and mires. It also includes some coastal zones and estuaries.
