Subtropical Biome

The Subtropical Biome, or wubtropics falls roughly between the edge of the tropics and the beginning of the temperate latitudes (40 degrees or higher). Characterized by warm to hot summers and cool or mild winters with infrequent frost. Most of the deserts are located in the subtropics.

  • Highland Climate
    • Mild summers and cooler winters (possible snowfall)
    • Mostly found in mountainous terrain
  • Wet Climate
    • Hot dry summers and moderate or high rainfall in winter
  • Humid Climate
    • Hot humid summer with tropical downpours
    • Warm to cool dry winters
  • Semi-desert/Desert Climate
    • Arid climates without regular rainfall or high humidity
