Redcap

A redcap is a dark and violent faerie who seeks to kill those it sees as weaker. It will then use its cap to soak up their blood. Scholars believe the fearie not only gains a measure of their victim's power, but can use the blood to make themselves look and sound just like the person they killed. They use this to get close to another victim so they can kill again. In this manner it is possible for a redcap to kill very powerful mortals simply by impersonating someone close to them.

A redcap can changes its appearance to match any being that is has killed and whose blood as has been soaked into its cap. The only common feature is that they always have run somewhere on their head, typically as a hat, cap, or other removable object.
