Liminal

Liminal creatures are those that appear to be split, or amalgams, of many different creatures (i.e dionysiac). The most common are half-man and half-animal. This is different from a lycanthrope which is a creature that shifts into something else. A liminal is not a shapeshifter, but instead typically a mortal creature of mixed species.

By far the most common liminal creatures include centaurs, satyrs, and merfolk.
