Hobgoblin

A hobgoblin is a born from a mating between a goblin and orc. Depending upon your perspective this is either the best or worst mating. A hobgoblin is physically powerful, highly intelligent, and yet born with the ancient rage of the orcs.

Hobgoblins are shorter than many races with males and females averaging just under five feet (4'8' to 4'10“ height). They are broad-shouldered with thick muscular chests, wide hips, and strong legs and arms. Their skin is rougher than orcs and not as pliant as goblins. As hobgoblins age their skin will thicken and harden resulting in cracks at the joints making movement painful. Their faces closely resemble orcs, but without the tusks extending from the lower jaw, instead extended outward to a very short snout.

Hobgoblins have wiry hair and in general have thicker hair over most of their body. Average eye color tends to be dark as does their hair. A bone ridge over the top of their eyes helps protect them from damage as their eyes sit further out from other sapient species. This gives hobgoblins very good peripheral vision, stretching nearly one-hundred and fifty degrees (150^o).

The most common skin tone is a dark reddish brown, but in fact their skin is actually a mottled brown and green. The skin tans reddish brown under the sun. This process occurs quickly (often within a day), but tends to fade back to their natural tone over a period of weeks.

Hobgoblins are born from a mating between an orc and goblin and as such their early birth depends on the mother. Orc mothers will carry their offspring a full eight months, while goblin mothers will only carry their child for five months. Multiple live births are extremely rare.

A hobgoblin is generally weaned from their mother near the end of their first year. Both males and females will enter puberty around their eighth year (8 years old). Females will stop growing around their fifteenth year (15th year), while males will continue to grow into their twentieth year (20th year). By their mid forties hobgoblins will begin to enter their waning years. Any hobgoblin reaching their mid fifties would be considered elderly.
