Gorgon

A Gorgon (/ˈɡɔːrɡən/; plural: Gorgons) is a dreadful female creature. While descriptions of Gorgons vary across literature, the term commonly refers to any woman who had hair made of living, venomous snakes, as well as a horrifying visage that turned those who beheld her to stone. They are said to be immortal; although many of those same legends speak of heroes that have slain the beasts.
